Welcome To The Family Lou!
We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the addition of Lou Wreath to the Paperbird family. Lou Wreath is the moniker of prairie based singer-songwriter Kris Glabush, a longtime friend. We can’t wait for you to hear his debut LP ‘Exploding Diagram’ coming out this winter. He’ll also be on tour with The Fight this February in Western Canada.
To complete a “rough cut,” film editors used to cut, splice and paste frame by frame, creating full-length narratives 1/20th of a second at a time. There is a prowess that comes from working in such small spaces, as the flow of a story goes from good to great, and this made moviemaking seem effortless to the unwitting film fiends of the last century.
It is working in this detail that offers Lou Wreath’s Kris Glabush occasion to sharpen those vintage devices in his storytelling. The nakedness of playing in a smaller group helps to bring his haunting experiences into raw and compelling detail. This montage is furnished with equal parts hard living, warm moments and deep suffering.

‘New Young Electric’ Out Now!
It’s officially out! Edmonton rock & roll band The Fight have officially dropped ‘New Young Electric’
The Fight’s debut LP ‘New Young Electric’ was recorded at night in the loft of a warehouse in Calgary over a cold week in January, with the vocals being tracked in the spare bedroom of a house. The result is a thirteen track album that touches on the human condition, that speaks of hope and heartbreak. ‘New Young Electric’ was released on The Fight’s own label Paperbird Music digitally on July 5, with 180gram vinyl being released September 2011.
